Winter weather, ugh!
I so am not a cold weather fan! 👎 But gotta take it as it comes I guess. No matter what the weather is I have a peace and assurance that my God never changes and will always remain the same!

That person is like a tree planted by streams of water…
—Psalm 1:3
God often grows our faith amid crises. Through the crises of life he can help us see his direction through the fog. As we grow in directional faith, we begin to discover how abundantly God wants to bless us. Eventually we begin to suspect that we often ask not too much of God, but too little.
Psalm 1 demonstrates this idea using the image of a tree flourishing by streams of water.
Where I grew up, rain was a common occurrence. While it wouldn’t rain every day, we generally had enough water around to keep things green. When I moved to northern California, I learned there was usually no rain for about nine months of the year. Once the winter rains stopped, any vacant lots quickly turned brown and stayed that way for months.
Yet there were many places in the community that were vibrant and green, with tall shade trees and lush lawns. The secret: those places had an underground water supply. Many trees, for example, grew naturally along rivers where they could siphon water directly from a stream. And in more recent years, underground sprinkling systems made landscaping possible. (It’s the only way I had a green yard.)
Psalm 1 assures us God wants to sustain us in a way like that, if we will only let him. We can call this sustaining faith, and it’s here that we really begin to see God’s hand in our lives.
Prayer:
God, guide us to the nourishment we need from you. Sat-isfy us with what you know we need. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

My review of the Cricut Shoulder Bag (I don't like secrets)
Apparently, it must be a top-secret they don't want you to know about.....My hubby had purchased me this shoulder bag from Walmart to carry my Cricut Expression Machine in. Well upon trying to fit it in through the top regular opening, it would not fit, not even if I sucked my stomach in!! LOL I thought well now we have sure been "suckered" into this! I kept doing a search online thinking surely I am just not doing something right.....After enough searches on reviews of the bag, discovered the SECRET. In the second photo you will see the bottom of my bag, note the rubber feet and the zipper that you need to unzip is on the right side of the bag behind the first zipper to expand the bag.... Note the little zipper at the top of the photo. After unzipping this, the Expression machine fits fine with extra room to spare. So since the bag is not padded at all, I will probably wrap a soft towel around my Expression when transporting so to protect it a little more. Photo number 3 shows this. Hope it don't take you as long as it did me to figure this out. Glad I did or I would be spending more money than needed on another portable bag for taking it with me. Have a blessed day!!

Dose from the Living Word
The Stones
By Cindy Hess Kasper
So many times the Lord has helped us through,
Has answered prayer and given strength anew. —F. Hess
Remembering God’s goodness is a good cure for doubt.
By Cindy Hess Kasper
When your children ask . . . “What are these stones?” then
you shall let [them] know, saying, “Israel
crossed over this Jordan
on dry land.” —Joshua 4:21-22
Not long ago, our friends had a gathering at their house and
invited a group of people who were all music lovers. Kevin and Ilse, who are
both gifted musicians, requested that each person or couple bring a rock for a
fire pit that was often the site for their evening musical jams. But they
didn’t want just plain ol’ rocks. They asked that each one be marked with a
name or date or event that indicated how or when everyone had become friends.
God felt that the Israelites needed a reminder of an amazing
event in their lives. Although the Jordan River had been
at flood stage, the Israelites had been able to cross over on dry ground
because God had stopped the water from flowing (Josh. 3:13 -17). Something similar had happened years before in
an escape from Egypt
(see Ex. 14:21 -31). On this
occasion, however, God instructed His people to build a memorial of stones so
that in the future when children would ask about the stones, parents could
remind them of the mighty hand of God (Josh. 4:23-24).
As God continually cared for the Israelites, He continues to
provide for us today. What “stones of remembrance” will you use to remind your
children, grandchildren—and even yourself—of the evidence of God’s might?
God’s faithfulness we’ve known throughout the years,
His oneness with us in our joys and tears; So many times the Lord has helped us through,
Has answered prayer and given strength anew. —F. Hess

The Remedy For Fear
by Joe Stowell
Read: Psalm 34:1-10
I sought the Lord, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. —Psalm 34:4
In his first inaugural speech in 1933, Franklin D. Roosevelt, the newly elected president of the US, addressed a nation that was still reeling from the Great Depression. Hoping to ignite a more optimistic outlook regarding that economic crisis, he declared, “The only thing we have to fear is fear itself!”
Fear often shows up in our lives when we are at risk of losing something—our wealth, health, reputation, position, safety, family, friends. It reveals our innate desire to protect the things in life that are important to us, rather than fully entrusting them to God’s care and control. When fear takes over, it cripples us emotionally and saps us spiritually. We’re afraid to tell others about Christ, to extend our lives and resources for the benefit of others, or to venture into new territory. A fearful spirit is more vulnerable to the enemy, who tempts us to compromise biblical convictions and to take matters into our own hands.
The remedy for fear, of course, is trust in our Creator. Only when we trust the reality of God’s presence, power, protection, and provision for our lives can we share the joy of the psalmist, who said, “I sought the Lord, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears” (Ps. 34:4).
Day by day and with each passing moment, Strength I find to meet my trials here; Trusting in my Father’s wise bestowment, I’ve no cause for worry or for fear. —Berg
Trust in the Lord is the cure for a fearful spirit.
